Bespoke Timber Double Glazing is the Best Way to Reduce Energy Bills

Channel 4′s George Clarke recently encouraged homeowners to convert old windows to energy-efficient wooden double glazing windows in an attempt to lower our carbon footprint in line with the Kyoto Protocol.

The Presenter of The Home Show and The Restoration Man gave simple 20 steps that every homeowner should take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their property. Among them, underfloor heating, good-quality loft insulation and simple common-sense methods of using local builders feature as good first steps.

Talking about replacement windows, Clarke said: “When you look at the potential energy savings, every house in the country ought to be double-glazed.”

Even Clarke’s Edwardian house in Notting Hill Gate features bespoke double glazing windows from top to bottom proving that no matter what your house looks like, and regardless of its age, there is a solution.

Bespoke window frames are more aesthetically pleasing than the standard UPVC models. Also, timber frames are generally more insulating, and quite often last longer.
